In the City
When Jesus taught about the Kingdom of God, he upset power-hungry religious scholars by turning their value system upside down. He described the poor, the marginalized, the mourning and the persecuted as "blessed," and he taught his followers to love and serve the down and out.
Mountain Park seeks to live out these kingdom values by sharing the Gospel and serving the poor and underprivileged in Phoenix and in the most God-starved parts of the world.
You can help us reach out to our community by serving at a REACH event (see upcoming events at left), or dare to volunteer on your own or with your d.group or family at one of the organizations listed below.
Family Promise
Location: 2408 E Pecos Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85048

Purpose: To reduce homelessness in the greater phoenix area by helping the families become self sufficient through housing and support services.
Projects: Volunteers needed for several functions:
- 1 time: Sunday afternoon room set ups (8-10 people)
- Sunday AM clean and restore to classrooms (8-10 people)
- Daily: Light cleaning / sprucing, (1 -2 people)
- Serve dinner and dine with the families play with children (4-6 people ideal for families or small groups, 1 group per night)
- 2 adults spend the night each night we host(1 night commitment, 7:30P to 5AM)
Feed My Starving Children

Purpose: Pack nutritious meals for starving children around the world
Projects: Pack meals during a 2-hour packing session
From Gangs to Jobs
Location: 4007 East Apollo Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85042

Purpose: Provide opportunities for young men to find hope and a positive future through caring relationships, skill building and job placement.
Projects: Mentoring, class teaching, specialized work
H.O.P.E for the Homeless/ CASS meals
Location: Central Arizona Shelter Services (C.A.S.S.)

Purpose: Empower homeless individuals and families to become self-sufficient and effectively end their homelessness.
Projects: Prepare and serve meals every six weeks and lead a recovery group
Salvation Army

Purpose: Help supply the Salvation Army with supplies they need to better serve the Phoenix area
Projects: Collecting and donate personal essential items such as toothpaste and shampoo.
Mountain Park Food Pantry

Purpose: Provides food boxes to individuals and families in Ahwatukee and surrounding communities
Projects: Collect and donate non-perishable food items, sort and pack food boxes
Phoenix Rescue Mission

Purpose: Vibrant and growing Christian Mission serving needy and homeless men, women and families in the Phoenix Metropolitan Area
Projects: Preparing and serving meals, office support
Sojourner Center

Purpose: Largest shelter in Arizona for women trying to escape domestic violence
Projects: Various opportunities available, Monday through Saturday 8 am to 3 pm, ages 12 and up
UMOM New Day Centers
