The word “gloria,” literally translated as “glory,” is most often used to describe the manifestation of God’s presence. The angels sang “gloria” when announcing Jesus’ birth to the shepherds, declaring that Jesus was indeed God-made flesh. The response we often see to God’s glory throughout the Bible is utter, fall-on-your-face amazement, but in our world today, many of us today have grown distracted and disinterested in the amazing truth of who God really is. This Christmas, join us as we seek to reignite our awe and wonder for the glory of our God who chose to appear to us in the humblest of forms in order to redeem and restore us for eternity.
Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God, and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”
