OUR CITY
When Jesus taught about the kingdom of God, he upset power-hungry religious scholars by turning their value system upside down. He described the poor, the marginalized, the mourning and the persecuted as “blessed,” he taught his followers to love and serve the down and out. Mountain Park seeks to live out these kingdom values by sharing the Gospel as well as serving the poor and underprivileged in Phoenix and in the most God-starved parts of the world. You can help us reach out to our community by serving on your own or with your family at one of the organizations we partner with.

The World
The vision of Mountain Park’s outreach team is to share the Gospel to the poor and under-privileged around the world. Therefore, we partner with international churches and send outreach workers beyond our borders to deliver the good news of Jesus to people of every ethnicity. Our goal is to impact our world with the love and message of Jesus Christ… Everyone, Everyday, Everywhere.
Tabernacle of God has been the longest Outreach partnership. Officially, established in 2002, Mountain Park has invested financially in developing leaders, infrastructure (churches, homes, Compassion International buildings, pila’s) and water projects. And the investment has returned seven-fold. (Over 600 baptisms, thousands of Jesus Christ followers, and church attenders, as well as deep meaningful relationships. Much of the organization strategy initiated with Honduras has been the protocol for all Global Outreach partners with MPC. Our goal with Tabernacle of God is to continue our current path nevertheless allow innovation to sharpen our efforts. MPC features 4 types of trips. KFC (Kids, Fellowship, Construction), Medical Trip (2 to 3 trips), Leader Erudition Deputation (L.E.D. conference), and a Family Trip. MPC will host 3 to 5 trips yearly.
If you have never been on a mission trip, we recommend this one. It is a 4-day experience, the cost is less than $400, travel is lite and easy, and it is a great service opportunity for the entire family. 1Mission has been working with those needing a home in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico for over 12 years and has built over 1,000 homes. Using the C.H.E. Program (Community Health Education) participants who earn 400 volunteer hours are eligible to have a house built for them. Mountain Park Church has taken over 35 trips to Rocky Point, and before the change in construction, (building a complete home in one weekend) MPC built over 40 homes, and in one weekend, having a team of 108 MPC’ers built 5 complete homes in one weekend. MPC hosts 2 built trips and recently added a medical trip that will be hosted 2 to 5 times yearly. For medical trips you need to be in the medical field or speak Spanish as a translator for the team.
The unrest in the Middle East has made it very challenging to do ministry, nevertheless Heart for Lebanon (HFL) has thrived using the simple principle of loving on all people. Though most citizens are Muslim (69%) they welcome Muslim guests to church who want to know more about Christianity. Lebanon is also challenged with refugees. One for 4 people are refugees fleeing from war. (1.5 million refugees). Most of HFL efforts revolve around refugees and the hardship brought on refugees as well as the Lebanese community. It is MPC’s goal to travel to Lebanon to host one trip yearly, alternating the focus from Medical to KFC (Kids, Fellowship, Construction).
We have only been in partnership one year with Uganda’s Divine Holistic Ministries; however, Mountain Park has traveled to Njeru, Uganda 3 times. A part of our strategy is always to travel to our partners location to do ministry alongside them. Though we have traveled to Uganda in January, June, and July, we project that our regular travel to Uganda will be late January. DHM has only been in existence for 10 years, and with so little they have done so much. Founders, Pastors Fred & Judith Kiwanuka have started 5 churches, each having a K thru 6 education school, running an AIDS program for over 2,000 women, and hosting several yearly community conferences covering Marriage, Youth, and leadership. In addition to finding how we can best “Work the Harvest” and accomplish Christ command of Matthew 28:19, we will also assist in renovating deteriorating buildings.
There is a truly amazing story behind the birth of The Children’s Home Project (TCHP) that you need to hear in person from its founder, Jenny Kast. Mountain Park supports TCHP in giving hope to kids in Honduras, not just to have the necessities of life rather the desires of something much greater. TCHP takes orphaned kids from the streets, all the way through college or trade-school to assist them in having a lasting career.
We are excited about this new partnership in one of the most isolated and ignored places in the Dominican Republic. Resources are scarce but the spirit of God is moving powerfully through Advocates of Love (AOL). Founded by Mike Clark just 11 years ago, who listened to God’s call, they have made great strides in improving the life of the most vulnerable, yet most valuable entity, our children. We are looking forward to walking alongside AOL and finding how we can best “Work the Harvest” and accomplish Christ command of Matthew 28:19.
