OUR CITY

When Jesus taught about the kingdom of God, he upset power-hungry religious scholars by turning their value system upside down. He described the poor, the marginalized, the mourning and the persecuted as “blessed,” he taught his followers to love and serve the down and out. Mountain Park seeks to live out these kingdom values by sharing the Gospel as well as serving the poor and underprivileged in Phoenix and in the most God-starved parts of the world. You can help us reach out to our community by serving on your own or with your family at one of the organizations we partner with.

The World

The vision of Mountain Park’s outreach team is to share the Gospel to the poor and under-privileged around the world. Therefore, we partner with international churches and send outreach workers beyond our borders to deliver the good news of Jesus to people of every ethnicity. Our goal is to impact our world with the love and message of Jesus Christ… Everyone, Everyday, Everywhere.

HONDURAS - K.F.C.

Mountain Park Church is in partnership with Tabernacle of God, (ToG) churches founded by Bishop Jaime Rodriguez. ToG is MPC’s longest Outreach partnership, officially established in 2002. Over this period, we have invested financially in developing leaders, infrastructure (churches, homes, Compassion International buildings, and pila’s). The 9 churches Mountain Park and Tabernacle of God have established has seen a returned of Christ-followers seven-fold. (Over 650 baptisms, exponential church attendance, as well as deep and meaningful relationships). Much of the organization strategy initiated with Honduras has been the protocol for all Global Outreach partners with MPC. Our goal with Tabernacle of God is to continue our current path (Investing into the future through kids programming, establishing lasting and meaningful relationships, and building infrastructure, specifically churches). Nevertheless, we want to allow innovation to sharpen our efforts and open to fresh and outside-the-box thinking.

You do not have to be a Mountain Parker to be a part of the team.

Mountain Park Church Honduras KFC Mission experience is generally scheduled in February, and 7 to 12 days long. Maximum participation is 32. MPC’s team leader is Michelle Castaneda, michelle@myazfamily.com.

If you have any questions, you can reach out to Michelle or MPC Outreach Pastor Greg Battle at gbattle@mountainpark.org.

HONDURAS - MEDICAL

Mountain Park Church connection with Honduras has been the trailblazer in initiating new paths in outreach with the church. Case in point, MPC’s first all-medical mission trip launched in the Summer of 2021 to Honduras and as quickly established itself as a highly organized mission experience and a mission greatly needed; serving and treating those who likely would never see a doctor in their entire life. In a short 3 years, 6 medical trips have served over 3,000 people. Though the trip is only for professional medical personnel and those that can speak both Spanish and English, it has proven to be a deeply spiritual experience for team members. (if you are medical, you do not have to speak Spanish)

We are always in need for licensed doctors, nurse practitioners, physical therapist, occupational therapist, pharmacist, bilingual nurses, and Spanish speakers.

You do not have to be a Mountain Parker to be a part of the team.

Mountain Park Church Honduras Medical Mission experience is generally scheduled twice a year, April & October or Novermber. The majority trips are 6 to 7 days long but can be schedule for as many as 8 days. Maximum team participation is 18. MPC’s team leader is Susie Ching, susie_butler@cox.net. If you have any questions, you can reach out to Susie or MPC Outreach Pastor Greg Battle at gbattle@mountainpark.org

HONDURAS - FAMILY

Family Mission trips is a fairly new idea with MPC and holds true to our value of innovation and thinking outside the box. Over the years with outreach trips that so happen to have entire families or the majority of family members on the trip, proved to be a valuable direction-setter for incorporating mission-mindedness in young people. This trip will revolve around projects that are conducive to families working side by side.

The commitment was to host a trip once every other year (2023, 2025, etc.) with the flexibility to change accordingly. Generally, families are together as a unit during the summer months but with the new scheduling for schools being different within the same community, we felt it would be best to be flexible. We will connect with those who are interested, survey them and get a consensus. From the consensus, the mission trip dates will be posted somewhere between January and late March.

You do not have to be a Mountain Parker to be a part of the team.

Mountain Park Church Honduras Family Mission trip is generally scheduled either in June or July. Trips will be 6 to 8 days long. Maximum team participation is 25. MPC’s team leader is Allison Kast-Eichenberg. If you have any questions, you can reach out to MPC Outreach Pastor Greg Battle at gbattle@mountainpark.org

MEXICO - ROCKY POINT BUILD

If you have never been on a mission trip, we recommend this one. It is a 4-day experience, the cost is less than $400, travel is lite and easy, and it is a great service opportunity for the entire family. 1Mission has been working with those needing a home in Puerto Penasco (Rocky Point), Mexico for over 12 years and has built over 1,000 homes. Using the C.H.E. Program (Community Health Education) participants who earn 400 volunteer hours are eligible to have a house built for them. Mountain Park Church has taken over 35 trips to Rocky Point, and before the change in construction, (building a complete home in one weekend) MPC built over 40 homes, and in one weekend, having a team of 108 MPC’ers built 5 complete homes in one weekend. MPC hosts 2 built trips and recently added a medical trip that will be hosted 2 to 5 times yearly. For medical trips you need to be in the medical field or speak Spanish as a translator for the team. For the build trip, there are no special skills needed other than the willingness to serve. If you have any questions, contact Greg at gbattle@mountainpark.org.

MEXICO - ROCKY POINT MEDICAL

The Rocky Point Medical Mission Team partners with Celebracion Cristiana Comunitaria Church in Puerto Peñasco, Mexico, which is part of 1Mission.  The medical team works directly with the church, using the CHE principal, assisting and empowering the community to live a healthy lifestyle and be self-sufficient.  Our medical team joins with Mexican doctors to provide services for over 200+ encounters in 2 days. Our services include, vital-signs, wellness visits, medical Doctor consults, pharmacy, reading/prescription glasses, physical/occupational therapy, dental exams/cleanings, education/teaching, etc.  We welcome interpreters, all health care providers, all dental providers, and health care students. Our mission is to meet the physical needs of the people, and show them God’s Love.

LEBANON - HEART FOR LEBANON

The unrest in the Middle East has made it very challenging to do ministry, nevertheless Heart for Lebanon (HFL) has thrived using the simple principle of loving on all people. Though most citizens are Muslim (69%) they welcome Muslim guests to church who want to know more about Christianity. Lebanon is also challenged with refugees. One for 4 people are refugees fleeing from war. (1.5 million refugees). Most of HFL efforts revolve around refugees and the hardship brought on refugees as well as the Lebanese community. It is MPC’s goal to travel to Lebanon to host one trip yearly, alternating the focus from Medical to KFC (Kids, Fellowship, Construction). We are hoping to host a mission trip to the region in December 2025. If you have any questions, contact Greg at gbattle@mountainpark.org.

UGANDA - DIVINE HOLISTIC MINISTRIES (DHM)

We have only been in partnership 2 year with Uganda’s Divine Holistic Ministries; however, Mountain Park has traveled to Njeru, Uganda 5 times. A part of our strategy is always to travel to our partners location to do ministry alongside them. Though we have traveled to Uganda in January, June, and July, we project that our regular travel to Uganda will be late January. DHM has only been in existence for 11 years, and with so little they have done so much. Founders, Pastors Fred & Judith Kiwanuka have started 5 churches, each having a K thru 6 education school, running an AIDS program for over 2,000 women, and hosting several yearly community conferences covering Marriage, Youth, and leadership. In addition to finding how we can best “Work the Harvest” and accomplish Christ command of Matthew 28:19, we will also assist in renovating deteriorating buildings. Our next trip is tentatively scheduled for June 29th to July 11th. If you have any questions, contact pastor Clayton at cyork@mountainpark.org or pastor Greg at gbattle@mountainpark.org

HONDURAS - THE CHILDREN'S HOME PROJECT

There is a truly amazing story behind the birth of The Children’s Home Project (TCHP) that you need to hear in person from its founder, Jenny Kast. Mountain Park supports TCHP in giving hope to kids in Honduras, not just to have the necessities of life rather the desires of something much greater. TCHP takes orphaned kids from the streets, all the way through college or trade-school to assist them in having a lasting career. It is an amazing concept that should be adopted by all children’s homes. If you have any questions, contact Greg at gbattle@mountainpark.org.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, DR - ADVOCATES OF LOVE

We are excited about this new partnership in one of the most isolated and ignored places in the Dominican Republic. Resources are scarce but the spirit of God is moving powerfully through Advocates of Love (AOL). Founded by Mike Clark just 11 years ago, who listened to God’s call, they have made great strides in improving the life of the most vulnerable, yet most valuable entity, our children. We are looking forward to walking alongside AOL and finding how we can best “Work the Harvest” and accomplish Christ command of Matthew 28:19. If you have any question, contact Greg at gbattle@mountainpark.org, or Dave at david@gautney.us.
